Wednesday morning, June 13, as we had breakfast, we passed through the Straits of Messina that run between Sicily and Italy. In ancient times, because the waters can be so rough there, it was said that there were 2 sea monsters, Scylla & Charibdis, who would try to swallow boats that passed. They must have been sleeping, however, for the water that day was very calm.
